Redesigned the company website, updating imagery and branding, and improving navigation and usability. Day-to-day activities included keeping products and pictures up to date, creating new homepage banners, and performing basic troubleshooting. Also photographed products, designed print ads and branded merchandise (like t-shirts and stickers), and created marketing emails.
Assisted with an immersive 1 month woodworking course in which students learned to design and build a piece of furniture, beginning with the milling of the raw wood. Uses of power tools and hand tools were covered, with an emphasis placed on traditional dovetail and mortise & tenon construction.
As woodworking instructor, worked to come up with projects that would engage 8-year-old children who did not know how to use rulers yet as well as 17-year-old farm kids who had years of experience. Preferably, the projects were things that the kids could display at the county fair at the end of the summer.
Mostly inventory at the Supply shop, at the sign shop I designed and produced campus signage: bathroom and handicap signs, faculty nameplates, museum exhibition labels…

Additional skills not reflected in education and experience include competency with Photoshop, Illustrator, and Indesign, as well as with HTML, CSS, web semantics, and search engine optimization. I have some experience with Flash, Drupal, Javascript and Python. I can sew and knit well, but cannot crochet (other than to add decorative edging to knit pieces). I enjoy solving problems and generally pick up new skills quickly. I am very comfortable with Mac OS X, and probably as competent with Windows XP and Microsoft Office as the average Windows user, if not more so.
I can draw, sketch, and paint, and I enjoy making hand-bound books and printing things on my antique letterpresses.
